Full-On War Propaganda

The decision to send 30 Irish soldiers on a training mission to enhance the military capability of the Ukrainian army is yet another breach of neutrality. The political elite has a long-term game plan to drag us into NATO.

This decision has been choreographed with a major push in the mainstream media to promote war propaganda.

Morning Ireland, RTE’s main news programme, gave time to CIA and US State Department operatives to promote their claim that Western ‘willpower’ must break Russia and send them ‘limping from the battlefield’.

Virtually no criticism of NATO is permitted and instead, we are invited to rally around the flag of Western values.

Censorship has been taken to a new level with the banning of RT, the Russian English language station and Press TV, the Iranian channel.

Both are propaganda machines for countries and few people think they have a high truth value.

But US media stations operate with a similar level of distortion hiding the reality of war.

Yet there have been 100,000 military casualties on both sides. There have been over 8 million refugees. Sanctions have helped push up food prices.

But still, anyone who calls stop is denounced as a Putin puppet by the propagandists. This is despite the fact that People Before Profit organised demonstrations at the Russian embassy and supported the anti-war movement in Russia before it was smashed.

On the anniversary of the war, it is time that voices for peace were raised. We need an immediate ceasefire before this brutal war escalates further.
