Galway Anti-Fascist Protest Today
Keep Galway Fascist-Free flyer from United Against Racism. Details in article.

United Against Racism have announced a demonstration to counter the demonstration called by campaign page "Grá na hÉireann". The United Against Racism plans to counter the anti-immigration protest. Demonstrators who stand wtih United Against Racism will meet at Father Burke Park opposite the GTI. The United Against Racism organisers recommend supporters bring "posters and/or noisy instruments (pots and spoons will do!)"

People Before Profit's solidarity is with the counter-demonstration. Attempts by racists and the far-right to divide workers based on nationality, race, or country of origin only serves to weaken the entire working class in Ireland. We will always oppose the arguments and demonstrations attempting to support sexist or racist ideas.

Grá na hÉireann's obviously false 'concerns' are only being raised so they can stage another attempt to gather people around speakers who want Ireland to see migrants as problems, not the actual real material issues of housing, transport, healthcare and public services. These are issue that will show Ireland needs real material change.

The distraction seems like a relief to some who think wish the issue had a easy fix that wouldn't require confronting the entrenched power of the Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael machine that runs Tax Haven Ireland, a place that works for the profits of landlords and tax avoidant corporations but can't provide for people.

Don't Be Distracted.

Stand in solidarity against the racism they want to use to divide us.

Be at Father Burke Park at 1pm.
