Brid Smith TD condemns the outrageous leaking of the Scally report and the hurt and insult caused to the women involved. But Deputy Smith says “Leaking reports in advance of publication is in keeping with the style of this Government and is normal but totally inappropriate in this case”
Deputy Smith once again has called for ending the outsourcing of Cervical Screening to labs in the US and claims “Outsourcing of the Cervical Check Programme ten years ago is at the root of this scandal and must end. Instead we learn that disgracefully this Government are negotiating an “indemnity clause “ in a renewed contract with two of the labs involved in the scandal”
The People before Profit TD for Dublin South Central has said that she will continue to fight for the repatriation of the Cervical Check Service and for an investigation into the lab practices in the US.
