Thousands Turn Out in Dublin For Palestine and Support the Sanctions Against the State of Israel Bill

Despite rain and torrential downpour as the crowds crossed the city thousands completed the march and heard the call to turn out again Wed. 20 May at 5:30 to support the Sanctions Against the State of Israel Bill in the Dáil.

People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett mover of the Sanctions

It has been 78 years of ongoing Nakba. For almost three years the world has witnessed the intensified genocidal destruction of Gaza including the mass killings of civilians, the deliberate starvation and displacement of a population, the destruction of hospitals, schools, homes and basic infrastructure, and repeated statements of genocidal intent by Israeli political and military leaders.

This is why thousands turned out again in the rain for a national Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign march. This march has special significance as People Before Profit's Sanctions Against the State of Israel 2026 Bill will be heard on the coming Wednesday 20 May with a demonstration to underscore the importance of this bill to the people of Ireland who stand on a long-held deeply felt anti-imperialist position of solidarity against occupation.

If passed, the bill would begin to meet Ireland legal and moral obligations by introducing comprehensive economic sanctions including a complete prohibition on trade, investment, technical assistance and financial dealings.

Join the protest outside Leinster House, Wednesday 20 May at 5:30pm, Before the Dáil vote.
