Stand Against Racism at Together Against Hate March Starting at 2pm at GPO

In response to the racist pogroms in Belfast this week, United Against Racism is hosting a Together Against Hate march starting at the GPO on O’Connell Street at 2pm, Sunday 14th June.

People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy has urged people to come to the march to stand against racism and the far right.

Paul Murphy said:

“Earlier this week we saw violent rampages through the streets of Belfast. These were racist pogroms aimed at immigrant communities, some of whom were burned out of their homes. Families with children had to run to safety as racists roared ‘get them out’.

“The rise of racism is being driven by the wealthiest and most powerful in the world. The likes of Musk, Trump and Farage are trying to divide people so the wealthy will be undisturbed as they get even richer. We must not fall for their divide and rule tactics.

“We must reject, too, dogwhistling and scapegoating of immigrants and asylum seekers. Parties of the left in particular must be unequivocal in rejecting attempts to blame and dehumanise immigrant communities

“It is critically important that we unite to oppose the racist hate and violence of the far right. I urge people to come to the Together Against Hate march, starting at the GPO at 2pm to stand in solidarity with those affected by racism and to face down the far right.”
