Puma Withdraws Sponsorship Of Israeli Football Team

Puma, the sports clothing company, has ended its sponsorship of the Israeli national team. This follows a massive campaign of pressure that has been organized across the world. In Ireland, pro-Palestinian protestors targeted shops such as Sports Direct to get them to remove PUMA gear.

The company, which is German-owned, denied that it had withdrawn from the sponsorship deal because of the pressure. They claimed that the decision was made a year ago.
But, they would say that- wouldn’t they?

This is a victory for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement and should spur us on to break all connections with the apartheid state of Israel.
