We are being fleeced with huge rents because this government is letting landlords do what they please.
Four members of cabinet are landlords, as are five Ministers of State. Nearly one-third of members of the Fine Gael parliamentary party are landlords.
One in three Fianna Fail TDs are also landlords.
They have a conflict of interest when it comes to legislating on rents. Yet none of them stood aside when People Before Profit proposed measures to curb rising rents. They voted against.
