Canadian Fires: Climate Change Reaps A Deadly Toll

Huge palls of toxic smoke are covering New York causing worse air pollution than in New Delhi.

It is the result of massive fires in Canada, with 400 forests ablaze. As the earth warms, more forests are becoming tinderboxes.

Average temperatures across the north of our planet are rising as reflective snow and Artic ice melts.
We need urgent action to stop a rise in global temperature over 1.5 degrees Celsius.

But the more governments talk about climate change – the less they actually do. The latest tactic of our rulers is to pretend concern and do little to stop the runaway growth of fossils fuels. If anything, reliance is growing after the Ukraine war as the Western powers look for alternative sources of energy to Russia.

We need to call a halt to this madness and not allow them to sink us into despair. This will mean system change so that the needs of people and the planet are put before profit.
