Richard Boyd Barrett and Paul Murphy are organising a Workers' Forum at the Dáil assembling workers from campaigns around the country to which are looking to push for inflation beating pay increases after years of carrying the load for government parties. Cost of Living campaigners have organised action for 19 September.

It says People Before Profit are petitioning the Government and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions calling for urgent action on the cost of living.
We are calling for:
1. Workers’ action on the cost of living
Unions should prepare for workplace action if the Government refuses to act.
2. Price caps on essentials
The Government must introduce price caps on fuel, groceries, energy and other essentials. Workers and families cannot be left at the mercy of profiteers.
3. Pay rises above inflation
Unions should fight for above-inflation pay rises across the economy. The Government must offer inflation-beating pay increases in the next round of public sector pay talks.
4. Emergency supports now
The Government should introduce emergency energy credits and cost-of-disability payments to support workers, families and disabled people as costs spiral.
