“Almost 50,000 families are waiting on safe, secure, permanent social housing that cannot be built due to lack of infrastructure capacity,” Gerry Carroll said.

“It is hugely disappointing that the Finance Minister has decided upon a toothless voluntary developer contributions scheme. The few developers who choose to make a minimal voluntary contribution will bask in the glow of good PR, while our public infrastructure continues to collapse.” 

“Whether it’s ending archaic rates relief for multinational manufacturing businesses or raising corporation tax, the Finance Minister has repeatedly refused to crack down on the most wealthy in our society. Big property developers in the north are massively profitable. They must be made to pay their fair share and invest in our long-neglected wastewater system.”
