On the 8th of February, People Before Profit was made aware of an extremely serious incident involving one of our General Election candidates, Joe Loughnane. In response, Mr Loughnane was immediately suspended from all party activity pending an internal review.
The Steering Committee of People Before Profit reviewed the case and decided that Joe Loughnane be expelled from People Before Profit, with immediate effect. His violent attack on a former partner means there is no space for him in People Before Profit.
We wish to state publicly our full support for the victim of Joe’s actions and to reiterate our support for women’s liberation.
