Protest At Saudi Embassy

A protest has been organized by the LGBTQ+ community of Saudi Arabia outside the Saudi embassy in Dublin and London on Friday, March 24 between 13:00 – 14:00. The Saudi embassy is at 6-7 Fitzwilliam Square E, Dublin, D02 W270.

The protest is demanding justice for a Saudi trans girl named Eden Knight, who was trafficked from the United States back to Saudi after staying in the United States to live her true self away from Saudi’s strict anti-trans laws.

Eden was denied access to her HRT treatment, which drove her to suicide. Eden posted her suicide note on her Twitter account @CYBERANGELFAERY titled “final messages” on March 12, 2023 where she laid out how she was manipulated. On March 13th, 2023 Eden’s family confirmed both her passing in Saudi Arabia and their identity.

Saudi Arabia showed on multiple occasions their willingness to invest resources in neutralising dissidents and critics abroad. The Saudi Arabian embassies are known for their involvement in many criminal activities such as the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi, and helping citizens facing criminal charges flee justice, and now the targeting and exploitation of every right of Eden.

Enough is enough. The Saudi LGBTQ+ community is outraged and frustrated that they cannot feel safe even outside their country as immigrants and refugees.
