Price Hike For Us – Cheap Electricity For Multi-Nationals

Big multinational corporations are getting the gift of cheap energy prices. Yet ordinary people are being fleeced.

Once again, this government is looking after the wealthy and privileged.

Electric Ireland is charging big corporations between 6 and 12 cent per kilowatt hour. But Irish families are paying 43 cent an hour. In other words, more than three times the rate.

The government will come up with all sorts of excuses, but it is not acceptable. We should reverse the policy of ‘liberalisation’ and put the supply of energy into the hands of a publicly run, not-for-profit company.

One that puts people before profiteers.
