People Before Profit Hold Protest At Russian Embassy

People Before Profit held a successful protest last night at the Russian embassy which nearly 200 people attended.

The protest was billed under the slogans ‘Solidarity with the Russian Anti-War Protestors – No to Putin – No to NATO.’ It expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people who are facing a brutal military onslaught.

Thousands of people have joined street protests in Russia and Putin is now facing more opposition than ever before. More than 5,000 people have been detained, including the friend of one young Irish man who spoke at last night’s protest.

We need an international anti-war movement that gives support to the Russian movement and which challenges the war mongers on the NATO side.

This is a far better way to stop Putin rather than imposing sanctions which wreck the lives of ordinary Russians, including those who protest against war.
