As of now we do not know what the ‘unpredictable’ Trump is going to do but People before Profit reasserts its long standing opposition to any US, NATO or other Western or imperialist military intervention in Syria.
The numerous crimes of the brutal Assad regime cannot be remedied or stopped by Western air strikes which will only inflict more suffering on the Syrian people and a horrific situation even worse, as well as risking further escalation of the conflict in the Middle East with unknown but potentially horrendous consequences. The only real remedy lies with the working classes and ordinary people of Syria and the Middle East – a revival of the spirit of the Arab Spring!
We also note the hypocrisy of Western rulers and the Irish Government who weep crocodile tears over Syria while turning back refugees and saying nothing about the murderous atrocities committed by their ally Apartheid Israel!
