Local Polish People Demonstrate Solidarity With Their Fellow Citizens Protesting In Poland

Over 70 Polish and other local people turned out in appalling weather in Waterford City at the weekend to show solidarity with the mass women’s and workers strikes in Warsaw and other Polish cities, against their government’s attacks on abortion, bodily autonomy and other basic democratic rights.

Local organisations who had representatives attending were: Waterford Together4Yes, Pro Choice Waterford, Waterford PBP, Pride of the Deise, Mna Na Deise, WCTU and Unite Community Branch.

Speakers included: Ania Wojewodaka, Natalia Kaczmarczyk, Michelle Byrne’s and Una Dunphy.

Following short speeches in which ongoing solidarity and support was promised the protest rally ended with slogans ” Who’s Bodies – Our Bodies ” “Not the Church – Not the State, Women Must Decide their Fate”.
