Last year’s budget was a giveaway. A giveaway for developers, highly profitable fast food chains and other business friends of the government. The last budget left most households worse off. Disabled people lost out by €1400.

The recent changes to fuel prices gave most to hauliers and contractors.
We can’t let this happen again. We need maximum pressure on the government to make it address the affordability crisis facing us all.

People Before Profit is calling on people to join the Affordable Ireland National Protest on September 19th. We need huge numbers out to demand:
• Energy credits for all
• Price caps on food, fuel and electricity
• Inflation-busting pay, pensions and benefit increases
• Free public transport
• A cost of Disability Payment
• An end to college and childcare fees
• A freeze and reduction of rents

Many organisations such as the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, Student Unions and the Irish Senior Citizens Parliament are supporting this protest. Get your workmates, friends, classmates and family out on the day.

We have to say Enough is Enough. The government has a huge surplus. It should be used to make Ireland affordable.
