People Before Profit Dublin Central by election candidate, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin has submitted a complaint to Dublin City Council about a breach of the Code of Conduct for Councillors by Councillor Ray McAdam.

The Ditch reported that Cllr McAdam used an official car provided to him as lord mayor to attend an event in his capacity as a by-election candidate, and therefore the use of the official car is an abuse of Council resources for a non-official purpose.

Ó Ceannabháin has called for Dublin City Council to initiate an investigation.

Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin said:

“It is outrageous that the Lord Mayor, Ray McAdam, has used public resources for private gain. The Lord Mayor’s car is explicitly only for use for official functions. Yet Cllr. McAdam has been caught using it for his by-election campaign.

“The use of an official car to attend an event as a by-election candidate is clearly an abuse of Council resources for a non-official purpose. I have therefore submitted a complaint to Dublin City Council about a breach of the Code of Conduct for Councillors by Councillor McAdam and I urge Dublin City Council to initiate a formal investigation as soon as possible”.
