Celebrate May Day

May Day is international workers day. It started when the socialist movement called strikes to win the 8-hour day.

It will still be honoured across the world.

Today the basic rights of workers are under attack. Many are stuck on low pay, precarious contracts. Young workers cannot afford rents.

But the big corporations are making huge profits from our exploitation.

Today, the trade union movement in the South Ireland has gone soft. It has entered a social partnership with the government that has led to wage cuts.

In the North, workers are fighting back- and winning higher pay rises.

On this May Day, it is time to rekindle the spirit of resistance.

Join the socialists and fight for a better world.
