People Before Profit to host cross party press conference on Money Message motion
Motion to be debated Nov 6th in Dail to unblock over 50 opposition bills
People Before Profit will host a cross party press conference tomorrow, 12 noon in Buswells Hotel, to highlight a Dail motion, which will be taken during Solidarity- People Before Profit’s private members time, to unblock over 50 opposition bills which are being blocked by the government using the a money message.
Solidarity- People Before Profit TDs Bríd Smith, Gino Kenny, Richard Boyd Barrett, Ruth Coppinger, Paul Murphy and Mick Barry will be joined at the press conference by Aengus O Snodaigh of Sinn Fein, Sen. Frances Black and Sen. Collette Kelleher.
The TDs will discuss the motion to unblock over 50 opposition bills which the government have undemocratically stalled by the government saying they require a money message.
Among those bills are measures that would ban oil and gas exploration, support micro generation of renewable electricity, ban goods from illegal settlements in Palestine and afford reunification rights to refugee families. Other bills would also see improved rights for workers in the areas of pension and redundancies.
