People Before Profit Makes Final Call For NO Vote

Nothing has changed in the Treaty: If you voted NO last time vote NO again

People should not be blackmailed on jobs

The People Before Profit Alliance today issued its final call to Vote NO.

Councillor Richard Boyd Barrett said “Nothing in this Treaty has changed since the last referendum. Those who voted NO last time should do so again.
We all know that his treaty does not contain one job. The only jobs at stake are those of an incompetent and inhumane government which has inflicted misery on ordinary people because of their failed economic policies.

These policies are supported by the EU and are enshrined in the treaty. If you want a change in direction for Ireland and Europe Vote NO.”

Councillor Gino Kenny said “The response on the ground to our campaign has been fantastic. When we have debated the content of the treaty people have been persuaded to vote NO. Unfortunately the YES side have refused to engage in a real debate on the treaty.

Its vital that everyone who thinks this a bad treaty goes out and votes NO.”

Councillor Joan Collins
said “This treaty contains real threats to our public services, will lead to the further militarisation of the EU, closer links with NATO and will copperfasten recent European Court rulings subordinating workers rights to those of big business.

Across Europe those who want a progressive Europe which focuses on eliminating poverty, which prioritises spending on health and education over military spending, which gives primacy to job creation and the rights of workers are looking at Ireland to give a lead.

Only by voting NO and rejecting this treaty can we open up a debate which can lead to real change for the future in Europe.”

VOTE NO on FRIDAY Oct 2nd
