Rachael Prendergast Spollen

Rachael Prendergast Spollen

Rachael has been selected as the candidate for the Stillorgan Ward in the upcoming 2019 Local Elections. She has campaigned on issues of social injustice; most recently she was a leading activist in the Repeal the 8th Referendum, worked directly with Repeal Project, Together For Yes and has since helped establish the Dún Laoghaire Together for Choice & Equality network.

While always politically engaged, it was the experience of being a key organiser in the Together for Yes campaign in the Dún Laoghaire constituency that was a driving factor in Rachel’s decision to become a local PBP rep.

The Struggle for Reproductive Rights had been a central part of Rachael’s political activity, but true Equality means having a safe home, a decent education, proper, accessible healthcare and the opportunity to meet each and every one’s potential. Rachael is committed for fighting for these rights.

She is a mother of 3 children, one of whom has ASD, so is only too aware of the challenges families face every day. Mental Health, and particularly campaigning for access to services and lack of Dual Diagnosis treatment is especially important to Rachael.

Whether in the area of Housing & Homelessness, Health, Mental Health, Disability Rights,Environmental issues, LGBTQ rights, and of course, Choice & Equality, Rachael is determined to work hard for the people of Stillorgan, Dún Laoghaire.

Constituency: Stillorgan
